Male nurse traveled to south american developed this large round persistance ulcer on his right leg. A tissue sample was obtained for histology and also sent for culture. surprisingly, live leishmaniasis promastogotes was observed under the wet mount!!! histology slides also shown various histocytes w. leishmaniasis inside the cytoplasm looking like this: it is a once in a life time thing to see live swimming leishmaniasis growing. they swam so cool! can't believe it. All the Infectious Doc and pathologist and microbiologist were so excited too. we talked about this case for a whole 30min in the Plate round. Man micro is SO FUN!!!! you learn so much each day, quite crazy. I really don't want this hamburger growing on my leg it's very disgustin when Ajit showed us the actual patient's leg.......aww, kinda wanna throw up.
Took my exam today, it's pretty hard.....the questions are so specific. crazy.
