can't imagin how much happened these few weeks, ups and down....but afterall, it's all turned out okay. I really need to rethink what my personal goal is. I can't be stuck in this situation forever. May be I need to move to a new area. how bout Cali?....or Portland. I'm down! new life new people new houses new cars. I do have to admit that there are stuffs that I don't wanna leave in Seattle. they are valuable memories. you are always in my mind.

I should start looking for jobs outside seattle. first target: portland or cali. I want to go to beach! hot girls!

good news and bad news, you know when you are glad that something work out for some person and you felt happy for them. it's kinda cool. well, graduation is comming and everybody is having new plans for their life and new plans means the end of something. I'm excied yet sad. complicated feelings. new goals is waiting for me, I should look forward. forget about the old stuff, it'll be good memories. I really have to sit down and think about my future. what God wants me to do.

So tired, went running on Greenlake w. sy, so x, i'm hella tired after running one round.

Haha, i'm on blood bench again, it's so fun now. I felt confident doing most of the stuff and today Kristine let me enter some of the micro work up results. man it's fun! the micro keybord is a whole different language! i have to hit ";" to input a code and ";;" to free text, and the codes are so random......"I"= setup, "O"=Sensitivity to follow", A=white......i mean, what the hell!? now i'm really impressed w. gerld how crazy he is. but it's really fun! IDTF, SAS, TAXA, STF, SAUR, CDIF, RESM, RDBK, there are millions codes. so fun!

Jenny asked me if I've heard back from chemistry yet, well, i said next week lor..then she offered me an interview next monday. haha, not bad. have to really study for micro interview, they ask all those weird parasitology and mycology questions.....anyway, I really wanted this job, after training here. it's really the best working environment i've ever had, u get to work w. lots of MDs and PhD and residents and pharmacist and ID fellows. i just felt interlectually more challenging. and they have free PIZZA!!! yesterday the levofloxacin drug company came and had the teloconference and they bought those weird pizza, i think it's thia chicken toppings....it's HELLA GOOD!!! oh man. and they have all those freebies. haha, i really wouldn't mind!!!! i took hella.

You know when you didn't get anything done that day, u feel extra grumpy........yea, this is the day. SUCKS! i'm just so mad at myself, so stupid! awwww!!! super ding. tmw I have problem base learning and MDX conference! ding! everything has to crash together. I just hate this feelings i'm having now, it's weird. and it's part of YOUR fault.....um ding. super pisses me off.

anyway, setup is fun! coz Larry is cool, he showed me the stuff once and I'm basically going solo. he trusted me, it's awesome. so much better than Greg, the only comment I can make is "I'm glad that he didn't train me the first week of my rotation" oh man, if he did, I would've been hated micro for the rest of my life!. man the stuff u get from microbiology though......ears, eye, fingers, blood, poo, pee. eye opening. it's like going to safeway's meat market, $3.99/lbs. The genital and respiratory test was HARD....just coz i didn't study enough.

today is just not a good day.........even though the weather is hella nice, I should've been enjoying the best time of the year. oh, the interview actually went pretty well, so hope for the best. dont' know why, i kinda wanna work in micobiology now.

Rock on! just got a callfromWSSCLS, they gave me $250 for the spring seminar at spokane this weekend. so minus the hotel and gas, I'll have like $60 of food!!! haha, quite cool. and Nancy amazing let me leave early for class tomorrow. the only bad thing is, it's like a 5 hours drive to Spokane. but hey, i've never been to the eastside, hope I don't have a culture shock, or ran over by so cows or deer.....oh deer. oh, I'm going to miss church and fellowship this week.....felt so bad.

yesterday's MDX meeting is cool, I presented Bordetella holmseii. it is a Gram negative rod, oxidase negative and has a brown colony morphology. The incident so Bordetella holmseii is so low that there are only 28 cases documented at CDC. it only causes a very mild symtom althought it has a 98% relateness to Bordetella pertussis. It is also associated w. asplenic patients and w. those that has sickle cell anemia....interesting huh. however, it's still on debate whether it is a true pathogen. Molecular diagnosis include DNA analysis or fatty acid analysis. thats pretty accurate. biochemical method is found to be erroranlous. Treatment of Bordetella holmseii includ third generation cephalosporine and aminoglycosides. it's it easily treated and doesn't not has any associated motility cases documented at the CDC.

Samonella typhi

Talked about Samonella sp. on plate rounds. Quite interesting: 36 year old women presented w. High fever (105F) and headache, got mild diarrhea on her period. 6 years ago she was dx w. Malaria after comming back from India. So the Infectious disease doc Judd ordered a whole bunch of micro culture just to r/o that. Interestingly, the blood culture turn out have gram negative rods growing. cultures were sent to the automatic ID system and it turned out to be a Samonella sp. more biochemical tests has to be done inorder to specie them. Tests include looking at the surface antigens Vi ( capsular), O(somatic) and K(fragella). LOTMIC panel which is whole bunch biochemical tests, can also be done. Samonella is H2S pos, urea neg, non lactose fermenter, swarmer, negative for Lysine decarboxylation. so the species turned out to be Group D Samonella enterolytica typhi....interesting huh! <-----Nerd here. antibiotic suseptibility testing has to be done also. the resistance patter looks pretty good and it's sensitive to ciprofloxacin in vitro, however, it is resistance to one other drugs which is also a fluorooquilone. this bascially mean the patient is screwed....haha, just kidding. it's just pretty cool to be w. whole bunch of residents and fellows and MD, I just learn so much better. and i can always ask questions and get immediate answers and what they think on a topic, it's so much better than looking at the book, awesome. Worked w. Greg today, it's pretty cool, he remines me of my supervisor Bryce. surprisingly he used to work in UW chem. so had a little chat about the chem, which is fascinating to me too.

don't have much to say. Training w. Sheila today. don't know why, stool bench doesn't look that interesting to me, may be because there aren't stuff like Samonella or Shigella shitting out from peoples' poo. most of them have enterococcos in them, and it's very easy to ID coz u just need to do a pyrase and may be urea. there might be times for immunocomprimised people to have VRE (vancomycin resistance enterococcos). This sucks coz it's just like MRSA. they are resistance to treatment and have to be isolated from other patients. I'm working on my unknows today, it's hella weird. I got a GNR from a mandibula Abscess and got a Sphingobactrium mutivorum from a sputum culture....i mean, what the hell, no wonder my LOTMIC results doesn't match. man, Nancy gave me hella hard bugs.....

Jenny, the supervisor at micro asked me if I have gotten a job yet....I said "no, are you going to hire me?"...haha, too mean. anyway, surprisinly she asked me to apply. I was like, Hmm, what could this mean: 1. that she really wants me to work there. 2. she is just saying it coz I'm the only student rotating there. 3. coz brittney is doing her CDC fellowship, I might just be their last resort.....haha, i'm just thinking too much. I told her my international student issues and she said it's actually workable and I could apply for sponsorship.....more hmm. so i finally sent in my resume now. let see what God brings me. it's going to be interesting. some how don't have too much hope in it coz I heard in the interview they ask you all those hard questions especially parasitology......my weakest subject. well, but it would be a really great job. not only I like micro so much, but it's also a midnight position.....i mean, midnight micro, what's going to happen!?? haha. no STAT, no anything, I could basically sit back and relax and enjoy the sun. JK.

had dinner w. Ricks and Rene, basically got the whole thing planned out. the logistics are pretty good I think. but haven't worked on the details yet. so, hope it's going to be fine in the end. and everybody learn some stuff this friday.

It also grows best at 35-37C. Epidemology of Bartonella quintana: it is transmitted by human louse Pediculus humanus and causes Trench fever. it affected over 1 million soliders during WWI. Currently, it is reemerging amount the homeless and alcoholic indivicuals. It is also related to bacillary angiomatosis (which I know nothing about) in HIV patients. Symptom of Bartonella quintana infection inclues fever, headact, leg pain, and a classical 5-day relasping fever (quintan fever) hence the name quintana. Treatment for Bartonella quintana inclues third generation cephalosporin or aminoglycosides.

it's my third time to tulip trip......this time brought Sy there. really nothing special to me anymore. you know, when you saw it three times, it's kinda like, "wow, it's amazing that the people can make the garden looks exactly the same as last year". it's funny, even Sy was complaining about us standing in the field doing nothing wasting times. hahaha, yep, thats HK people. Then we went to hotpot, so many people! oh dear, it's crazy, there were like 40 of us, taking over half of the restaurant. the food is so so, not much different form Old Seichun, but w/o the dumpling. i give it about a six. so x have to work afterward, but it's fine.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It took like a week for them to grow in order for us to be able to work it up. I really like the theory though, it's very fun and interesting. I was having the lecture by Carolyn w. the resident, they are kinda lost too, so funny. She was falling a sleep too. anyway, i saw her in my every rotation site seriously. VA, UW Chem and micro.....haha.

oh well, have to prepare for two presentation next week.......and i have another test to take; Gastrointestinal microbiology. DAMN IT! this is never ending.

Man, everybody said Molly was harsh to the student. but it's all wrong! she is hella nice! she taught me lots of stuff and she is actually a very knowledgable tech, she knows what she is doing and I pick up a lot of valuable skills from her. and what surprised me is.....she actually went over all the exam objective w. me today!!! i basically don't have to study! OMG!!!! she is so nice. I love it! There are so many Enterococcus today, I can actually regconize it right away when I see it. so is Staphylococcus aureus and E.coli. There are pretty easy. Molly taught me the three S and Three P for the non-lactose Fermenter. They are: Salmonella, Shigella, Serratia, Acintobactor, Provendencia, Proteus, and Pseudomonas. They are very useful. Gram negatives colonies should have similar size when comparing Blood agar and Maconky coz they are not inhibited.

susceptibility patter: Proteus mirabuls is alway Ampicillin sensitive whereas P.vulgaris is always Ampicillin resistance

today is pay back time for me, coz i only need to work for 7 hours for the day light saving, but what sucks is I have the same workload, so all the stupid blood gases cramp into this 7 hours, it's like non-stop.......so x. Melina told me to apply for Harborview chemistry.....i was like..okay. she tole me Wes, me and Michell applied. so there's going to be competition....ohdear. Chuch is so so, so tired today.....and there is a little sparrow flew inside the century. quite funny. I've bet nobody notice. i'm the one spacing out today...haha. Went to sushiland and burkgilman today w. Twig. so mean, but it's funny. I can eat sushi everyday. i swear.

tell you what,today IS a 5. it's just makes me mad when you keep talking and talking and talking, so annoying and not listening to what I sad. but anyway. I wasn't that mad afterall. talking is good; or naruto is good too. haha. stop using my phase "at least we know each other better!" i hate you.

The high light of the day is cutting my stupid thumb when I was cutting the stupid onions. a whole chunck of my skin came out hanging w. bloody fresh, pretty funny. well, i have too much blood anyway, I did my own hct in the lablast time and it's like 53%.....it's time to lose some blood baby! The ground beef onion egg thing i cook is amazingly good though, even melina was amazed, haha, she was really shock that I can actually cook that good. Asian power! Went to Saigon Daily w. Sy and bought the vietnamese sandwich, it's HELLA good! actually the best I've ever had. oh dear, it's so vietnamese. man, seattle actually has lots of good food! Good in terms of traditionality. drove Sy for bus to Puyallup. so x. don't know where to park and there are no restaurant. I so wanna go to sushiland, but it's 9pm already. xXx

went to Binh's shop today, it's pretty cool, he got really good business, there are hella people in his fish store, he got so many new and exotic fishes~! very awesome. Learned a very sad news today too. I almost fell on the floor today. it's just too shocking. I'm a bit mad and sad. i know I'll miss him in the lab, we had so much fun and horsing around. man, I really miss the old times. without him it's just boring.....lost a good friend today in school. oh well, i'm sure we will still hang out outside school. ai....wanna cry.

Leishmaniasis

Male nurse traveled to south american developed this large round persistance ulcer on his right leg. A tissue sample was obtained for histology and also sent for culture. surprisingly, live leishmaniasis promastogotes was observed under the wet mount!!! histology slides also shown various histocytes w. leishmaniasis inside the cytoplasm looking like this: it is a once in a life time thing to see live swimming leishmaniasis growing. they swam so cool! can't believe it. All the Infectious Doc and pathologist and microbiologist were so excited too. we talked about this case for a whole 30min in the Plate round. Man micro is SO FUN!!!! you learn so much each day, quite crazy. I really don't want this hamburger growing on my leg it's very disgustin when Ajit showed us the actual patient's leg.......aww, kinda wanna throw up.
Took my exam today, it's pretty hard.....the questions are so specific. crazy.

Oh man! UW micro is so fun! it's only my 3rd day in the lab and I'm already feeling the fun of being a microbiologist. There are so many interesting cases today. There is one medical student who had a big nodule after comming back from India. then he went to surgery and cut it off to see what it is. surprisingly there are tons of Eonsinophils and Parasites!!! so many! under his armpit!! it's pretty cool to see it on the slides. I was laughing in my mind "sucks to be you! haha, dice!" Then there is a 13 days baby die of septicimia of multiple infection of Candida albicans + Enterococcus + Coag neg Staph....pretty sad. There are so many things happing in micro. and There are Grand Rounds every MWF. All the pharmacy and docs and MT get together to talk about interesting cases. man. it feels like you are really important and part of the diagnostic team.

Micro.......so long ago, so hard, so many things I have to re-learn. oh dear. it's very challenging, yet it's quite fun in UWMC. it is a nice place to work, and it's pretty fun too. I'm sure there will be a lot people applying there. but me. I just applied to the UWchem generalist position today. haha.

I'm on blood bench today, it's quite fun coz there are only one organisms for most of them. what sad is there is a baby boy who have Candida albicans and coag neg staph growing in his blood....this is not good. oh dear. The grand rounds are very fun and educational. all the pharmacy, medical students and ID docs were there. so interlectual challenging. I like it. Anette is very nice. she is quite pretty and have a german accent. super nice supervisor. Mike is quite funny, he is kinda weird sometimes. but he is very smart. so it's really nice to work w. him.

I'm not having a very good evening/morning. I think it's the allergy. or perhaps it's because my harddrive died and I didn't get my daily fix of manga, or maybe I just need to stop eating so much damn sugar so I don't get hyper during the day and depressed at night.

Yang is here visiting this week. (which explains the lack of updates) and due to the fact that she is staying at our apartment with me and Jeff, in the past 3 days I basically saw the entire asian female UW class of 2004 crowd showing up on my doorsteps visiting her. I got to see some people I wouldn't have to chance to see otherwise, and it just seemed surreal to see all these people from a year ago gathered in one place again.

however, after several days of listening through nonstop gossips (warning, do not sit with 3+ asian girls in the same room at the same time. your ears would literally swell from all the conversation), all these socializing made me weary. I sorta realized, at this point in my life, I have neither the desire nor the will for more friends. I'd rather try to get to know my old friends better again than making new friends or attempting some half-assed effort at having a conversation with people I don't really know that well.

but then that's where the frustration starts. a quick glance down the blog lists and I am discovering that everyone else's social circle is quickly expanding and lists of my friend's friends, significant others, and their friends, is getting longer and longer and beyond my ability to keep track who's who. :/ the more I read about their blog and their friend's blogs, the more alienated I'm feeling. who are these people to me? do I still think of them as friends purely out of the feeling of nostalgia? because we went to the same school/classes? or perhaps out of feeling of obligation because once upon a time we used to hang out together? and, who am I to them today?

isn't there a theory that that once you reduce human being to a number, the feeling and humanity associated with that person is lost, and it become easier to manage and control people? sitting here typing, I can't help but think, am I being reduced to a mere screenname? a handle on people's IM program? nothing more, except another voice that could provide a few minutes of conversation when people are bored and needs some entertainment?

it's a pretty dreadful feeling. do I become something you start telling people at parties? "oh yeah, I used to know this guy.... you know, he always used to.." ....something like that? you know I IM less and less, because I am starting to hate seeing a list of friends' names online, wanting to say something yet don't really have anything to say. even if I try to start a conversation, I have absolutely no fucking clue what to say except.. "hi" and then the silence and awkward pause that follows is just.. lame. instant messaging is creating a kind of odd situation for me because I "see" the person yet have nothing to say to them. It's different than sitting next to some of my friends in person, where I know I can say absolutely nothing and know that I'm with good company and not have to feel pressured to say something. IM doesn't give you that feeling, instead sometimes it makes me feel stupid and sometimes I even think "why do I have this x person on my list?" even though I know we're good friends.

sometimes I seriously regret moving out of the bay area, out of my circle of friends. and tonight is one of those "sometimes".

I don't know. had such a great time this few months and didn't really think about reality. yea, i guess this is our first reality check, i felt like this is the end....yea, it has to be ended anyway. it's not like it's going to last. we have our own dreams and duty in our life. but hey, i didn't regret it. I had a good time. had lots deep and true sharing that I really won't tell anyone. I felt released. Good bye and good luck.

Retreat 2005

I wasn't really 'into' the whole retreat thing until Sunday morning....the sharing by Jeff is quite touching.
we went to camp lakeview which is only in Kent. quit close. but the place is really nice compared to our previous ones. However, the food is just awful. super white trash food....I really have not prepared for this retreat nor do i have any expectation. but I think God talked to me on saturday night. when Jeff and some other people started to sing in the hall. then more and more of us joined. we just sang random songs without any preparations and stuff. Yet it is the best worship. You can just feel the joy in everyone of us. it's so TRUE. I long for that for so long. you know, every sunday, the singspiration is so...like a menu, people just read out what they have prepared, sing in a very specific sequence. there is just no true feeling in that, I didn't really felt that they are worshiping God......but yesterday, man, Thank God. it's just amazing that God spoke to everyone of us in there, we were dancing and singing, shouting....so crazy. can't believe it. i experienced true worship. so funny,the staff and pastor chan joined us too after their meeting. we sang for like a good hour and half!!!! it's crazy. felt so good though.

The next day in worship, many brothers and sisters had a really true sharing, especially Jeff and Yin. I'm really impressed that out fellowship is not just whole bunch of college people joining together every friday. each individual of us is actually different and is very nice to share out inner feelings. Jeff's sharing is so touching, God used him to spoke to me. we really have to unite as a fellowship, as a church. make a testomony to the people out there, show them our love. I'm very proud of you jeff. I'm sure God is too. Good brothers in God. may our candles support each others instead of lighting alone in some isolated places. it's time to break our barrier between us. I felt that everyone in our fellowship has grew....it's all God's plan.

well, I'm glad I didn't go to work on saturday night. it's worth it. it's pretty amazing seeing how God can use a little kid in HK. they sharing tape is quite funny. don't know why, I slept a lot in this retreat, may be is the stupid after-final effect. felt rested.

Man today is so long, but it's so great!! haha. first the english sunday sermon was so great. Pastor Roy talks about the story of Joanah. He is a really real person, like he challenge God why he wants him to go to a ghetto place to spread Gods word. "We are not trying to fit God into our story, rather how we fit into God's story". it's pretty amazing. and he talked about hoaw he hate Duke w. his heart coz he is from U of Maryland. and he talkes about how his mom asked him to call his sister back for dinner. the difference about the heart and his heart...well, anyway, it's pretty stimulating. very different from the Chinese congregation i have to say. Thomas was there he actually sings pretty well in a sense that he is very trueful, you can see that he is really praising God with is heart and mind and soul.

After that me justin twiggy and Max went to sushiland for some more good sushi. it's pretty good. then I showed them Binh's fish store, he gave me one more puffy fish and a algae eater....man my tank has been algae-up! look so dirty. but very clean now. anyway, we decided to go to alki afterwards, but I stupidly missed the exit and after that I can't get out until spaceneedle.....so stupid. too bad, plan changed to Greenlake walk, super down grade. we bought some fresh mix ice-cream which is only so so, the cold stone ice-cream is so much tastier. may be it's just the MSG or sugar. I also walked my new puffer and showed him around greenlake, it's pretty cool! he love it! hahaha.

Then did my homework case study w. sy....so tired already....ready to go to sleep. but still have to eat and wash my clothes.....oh dear. such a long day.

Music Month I

first week of music month. "Felix and friends" held there contemporary leading style. Great music, great singing, great arrangement, great food....haha, just kidding. well, everything are great.....technically. but somehow you know. it's not really spritually stimulating. I seriously don't feel that I'm worship God and I always got side track by the arrangement and how well people is singing and stuff. I'm so picky, which is bad...... but seriously. it's not one of my most stimulating worship. I remember the last time I had the greatest experience was thomas' leading. he actually practiced the ESSENCE OF COMTEMPRARY style. in my opinion "contemporary" is not so much about upbeat arrangment, or singing style, to me, is really a true sharing of thoughts through songs and personal experience. I rememberd last time he bought up the pictures in Iraq war and lead a song about the power of Gods love and his comforting. and his sharing actually made me cry......I'm really really sure he is a "high level" christian and that God has lead his sprit in his leading rather than himself. one of the most CRITICAL error that most contemporary leader nowadays they spent too much effort on how the songs is presented....which is good in some way but it has also blocken God himself to lead the singspriation. Many times I really just see a person "showing off" their skill and faking their sharing than to really worshipping. To be serious, Thomas is not a good singer, neither is his group nor the pianist; but his sinspiration is one of the best because I really sees him opening himself to God and shared the true experience. I were so touched that I cried that time.....oh dear. it has been long time since i've experience this. I didn't say I don't like contemporary, it's just too hard to make it good. but once you got a hang of it, it's really really stimulating to everyone.

Hot Pot II

AWESOME! i had my second hotpot this week, such, so lucky!! hahaha. Went to twiggy's house for some traditional HK style hotpot. there are so much food! oh dear, so happy. jerphy's mom bought hella seafood and meat! we just ate ourselves crazy. Then we sang a little bit K, Max sang pretty well, not bad, so funny iris keep off key when she sang the high note. hahaha, always fun to make fun of her. also great is to see jerphy, haven't got in touch w. him and geege for quite a while. always good to see some old friends. too bad justin have cell group. he came when I'm ready to go to work.......

Man, a grande white mocha became my routine thing before work every week. but it's really really helpful to me to stay awake. work has been really fun. and I hit my personal high on # of blood gases....140! oh dear. Yon-ran was at the LX, so it has been really fun. and Melina always come around and bugs me. haha, always got "inch" back and left, haha, so fun. women. this week is also the last week working w. Ruth, she is going to OHSU for PA school and work part-time in the HLA lab. sounds fun! oregan sounds like a fun place to live....i know, u'll say i'm weird.

Exam I

Exam I is not that bad, but I can already feel the amount of materials going to be on exam II. all the blood group systems......Duffy, Kell, Kidd, MNS, Lewis, Lutheruen.....oh dear, it's going to be really hard. The lab today is freaking long too....in order to do a full competibility testing. one have to doing the basic ABO and Rh typing, then perform a Screen Cells to look at any clinical significant antibodies in pt's serum. if so, you have to perform a 12 cells panel to identify the specific antibody. and confirm it w. selected cells and selected antiserum to confirm that patients lacks the antigen on their RBC. that basically take at least 3 hours even you are fast. cause of all the cell washing and adding reagents.....super x. but in the end. it's a patient's life if you transfuse them w. the wrong type of blood. i'm sure won't feel good if i made a mistakes....coz they actually WILL die of shock, hemolytic diesase, jaundice and kidney failure.

Man the guy in lecture today is so funny! he talks about Kidd, Kell and Duffy system. he and roxanne is the only cool people I think from Puget sound blood center. he made me remember the system so much better. and he is hilarious. did a drama about the Kell system. hahaha. and he have a german accent. so funny. one of his qoute "you don't need this stuff if u can't find it in Costco; you don'e need it if it's not on Senfield". haha. it's so true. and he is keep asking people to work for him in the blood center. so funny.

I'm the pianist again, the second time felt so much better. less scary. but still, i don't have time to practice. i'm so bad, just practied in the morning. but i don't have a piano!!! that really sucks. I could've done so much better if i have one to practice at home. but anyhow. it's over. Hope God likes it.

the portugese chicken in Pacific restaurant is so hot. I'm super scatching my head when i'm eating it. so x. went home and took a nap and woke up by Sy.....went to KFC for that a dinner. the one in ballard sucks. the Bellevue one is so much better....aww. so dissapointed. then I went to sam's house to play some GT4, it's really a awesome game. can't believe the HK course, they pin down every single little details on the street. omg! they have watson's, 1010, maxium, giodano,....the CG is just perfect. too bad it's on PS2 though, i'm sure the game could be much faster if it's on X-box. anyway, it's such a good game, a must buy game! 600 cars, and all of them look so real! unbelieveable.

It was such a good song. sadly, it's the one good song that is in his concert. downloaded from weldon's. it's pretty cool. My room is so clean, quite awsome!! haha. Today's cell group is pretty cool. I once again successfully beat CC's parking spot again, haha. she is super um ding. me and enoch laughed so hard in the car. Cell group was awesome, we studied Luke about the three guys that wanted to follow Jesus, but they have different burdens in them. Rick once again be our Mr. obvious.....it's pretty fun to joke around w. him. though i felt sorry for him sometimes. i think my groups is the best! Then we talk about inviting Max to our group. he is such a cool guy, okay, he is Ph.D in bioengineering, he drives a Saab 9-2x, he went to Duke, he is from vancouver.....oh dear. i'm sure he'll be our asset to the cell group....only if he want to join us.

Have to go to work right after, that sucks. and it's so busy today. i ran like 140 samples. it's my personal high. Hermnan showed me a rare calcium phosphate crystals. it's the plate form, i've never seen one in real life. pretty crazy. he is so nice, always show me all the weird stuff he sees, so devoted to teaching....and he is so funny too. So afterall, work has been great. I don't know why, the people in HMC has been really kind to me. it's pretty funny.

it's pretty crazy tonight.....
school is great, I got lost in lecture again. but we got out at 1:30, met up Clara on the bus stop. went to Pho Binh w. her and Sy, it's pretty cool, coz haven't had lunch w. her for a long time. Sy was right. We were meeting the med tech classmates a lot this week, going from group to group. it's pretty funny. I then went to Petco to get a rock for my little puffer so he have a place to hide.

prayer meeting in fellowship tonight. not bad. bettty and justin's interaction is pretty funny. no to mention the pizza! it's quite yummy i ate a few of them, haha. quite crazy. Then i went to Earls for Wes' birthday. kinda buzzing afterwards....can't believe it thought went clubbing w. them.....it's kinda x. kinda hope X can go w. me. too bad X is not here this week. oh well. next time.

Puffy Fish!!

went to binh's fish store after school, he gave me the figure 8 puffy fish (Tetraodon biocellatus) and the whole 10 gallon tank, so nice. I just have him $30 for it, haha, super nice deal. went to Ivar's afterwards w. Sy, then we ran into Anne Brit and Kari, it's pretty cool. The Ivars Salmon house happy hour special is awsome! fish and chips for $2.95~! hella good deal. then we went over to Anne's house to look at her "mellon" cake and played some board game...it's so funny, when kari tried to do the bungie jumping action....we all thought like she wanted to suicide. hahaha. They then went to Dante for some cheap $3 pitches beer......I have to go home and set up my tank. my puffy fish is so lonely, he got the whole tank by himself. it's like living in a big mansion! good for him. hope he'll grow very very big soon. I'm excited!! haha. it's very cool watching how he swims, he swims like a submarine. and it's pretty cool to feed him too! so cute! haha. I was a little scared the first time I opened the blood worm bottle. there is like freaking 2000 bloodworms in there.

School is awosome too! i love going back to school. especially we can get out early. blood typing is easy as the lab goes. but the theroy itself is pretty complicated....i'm lost again today in lecture. all those werid blood type and crossmatching. Roxanne told us some pretty bad story when people go transfused to the wrong blood type......especially the Rh- people. oh dear. too bad, coz 15% of the white popuplation is Rh- compared to .01% of asian...hahha. it's the best time to say to the white "sucks to be you".

Man, when you are in the lab all day, you reallly get to appreciate the seattle sunshine. Today is so awsome! B-E-A-U-tiful~! so want to go kayaking. too bad it's still cold. Day two of bloodbanking: I'm starting to get lost.....i started to think i'm stupid. oh dear. "it's not me! the instructor sucks..." nah, i'm not going to make excuses. so i started to actually read the book. I learn more from the book than reading the powerpoint notes.....they are not very organized<-----my excuse. haha. anyway, what's better to prove you know something by teaching somebody else

The Rh blood group system:
Rh typing is important because its antigen has high immunogenicity, that means it can mount a very serious immune respond to a person if they are transfused w. the wrong type of blood. Rh typid is significant in Transfusion medicine, Hemolytic disease of the New Born and hemolytic anemia. The Rh blood group has five major antigen, they are C, D, E, c and e. their genes are located on chromosomes 9 and located in two different loci. D in one loci and C/c/E/e in one loci. this genes are expressed codominantly. Therefore, the genes determines how much antigen you'll be produced. just like the ABO blood group; if you are D+,E+, you will have anti-c antibody. Similarly if you are D+ C+, you will have anti-e antibody. The significant of such typing will become clear after I explain you they following senario:

patient who have are r'r" (Cde/cdE) are transfused with R+ blood: since the patients lacks the D antigen on the red cell surface, their immune system will produce anti-D Ig to combat the transfused D pos red cell. let say a mother is Rh- and her fetus is Rh+....as you can see in the picture, the mother will produce anti-D antibody directed against the fetus red blood cells and lysising them. the fetus will die of hemolytic anemia being attacked by his own mother!!! oh dear, that sucks. Thats why donor's blood has to be Rh typed by law to make sure that the Rh- is really Rh-.

Because the expression of D antigen is greatly reduced if the C and D genes are located in trans-position in the chromosomes (that is on different side), testing of D antigent might give you are weak positive or even negative result even when the antigen is actually present. Therefore anti-IgG reagent is developed to agglutinate the antibodies binded to the D antigent. so that a actualy positive result can be observed. this is called the Indirect antiglobulin testing (IAT). On the other hand, IAT is not done on the recipient. this is because 1. Rh+ is really Rh+; 2. Rh- recipient will always be given Rh- blood anyway. The incident of RhD/Rhdis about 85%/15% respectively.

it's the first day of bloodbanking, they started us on the lab. which is quite fun. we typed 12 patient's blood for their ABO blood type. i used to think that There are only 4 blood group types, ABO and Rh....soon i realized it had like 50ish stuff. it's crazy man! and it's all related to genetics. the stuff started to get complecated coz when you study the Rh blood group, there are the "big five" alleles: C,D,E,c,e.....and it has so much rules how they are expressed. pretty crazy. oh well, anyway, the first day has been fun. one of the highligt of the day is Nick "inching" the Su about whether "O" group is recessive or not. it's very funny. and as a matter of fact, that lady is going to cry on us.....that was kinda scary. Nick go so mad about our coursepak coz he can't read the powerpoint notes.....that kinda suck. and I'm trying to anwer his question here:

Q: why are there such a high percentage (45%) of people who are group "O" when it is considered recessive in genetic sence??
A: Although the percentage of phenotypic expression is control by random assortment of both parent's genotype, we also have to look at the percentage of different alleles in the sense of the WHOLE population. for example: we know that a AO/AO parents will have 50% chances of having a "O" group child. but if we look at the population as a whole. there are more "O" genes floating in the population. it is demonstrated in this equation: p^2 + 2pq +q^2 = 1. let say the population has 50% p gene and 50 % q gene. then, the phenotyp percentage recessive and dominant will be 0.25, 0.75 respectively. in order to offset this ratio. the amount of recessive genes in the population will have to be greater. if we have 90% q genes and 10% p genes, the phenotype of dominent and recessive will be 19% dominent and 81% recessive. The gene is recessive in a sense that it will not be expressed; but environmentally it is dominent because of the better survival rate species having such "recessive" trait.....anyway too much BS.

woke up at 1050 buzzing.....realizing that my room was so messy...played some solatari w johnathan F. he sucks...haha. anyway, i finally made up my mind to clean up my room. reorganized some stuff. and the most important thing is....I FOUND MY GOGGLE! awsome! i can go swim in IMA now! my room looks Very nice indeed. threw away so much junk in the room and cleaned out the dust. it's my "year 28th" cleanning project. i'm prepared for my bloodbanking rotation. The lunch I made is quite good. the taiwanese sausage is great! lots of flavor and there are lots of food left in the refrigerator....it's crazy.

Sam called me up for korean bbq at 4:30....i was like, dude it's too freaking early. He went to IMA for basketball and got hella hungry and made me to go bbq w. him...ding. it's funny, charlene went too. but she can't hold the chopstick so the korean lady gave her "the look" haha, so funny. then we went to that tapioca place again. Sam asked the girl whether the MTV they are showing is taiwanese.....of course it is, it looked so ghetto. and sam gave them "the look" again. the girl changed her face immediately and got hella pissed off......he is so mean to his OWN people. haha.

we continued out ghost recon 2 to night. went to pick up sy first of course. it's great because we have four people this time. it's so much fun! we played for like 5 hours.....again. I'm the designated sniper.....i enjoyed it. it's funny killing the koreans far far away. but you are screwed if they found you out. Oh binh called and asked us when the class start. I told him 7:30 but it's really 8:00. just because i know he'll be late anyway. have to buy the stupid coursepak, it's $47! thats insane.

man I had my first cell group meeting tonight. it's hella funny! oh dear, it is totally unexpectable. all of us laughed so hard, my stomach and face were so soar.....okay, we went to justin's house for dinner, we had soy sauce chicken and ching ping chicken and some vegetables. it's great, I just had KFC afternoon w. two long corn sticks...so full. haven't been to KFC for ages! anyway. the cell group was awsome! we had justin, donna, CC, enoch, rick, jeremey and tracy....it's such a dynamic group. we also had so many qoutes tonight:

Oh dear, I'm having a very packed schedule this week. but now I haven't sleep for 36 hours already!!! oh dear.

woke up today at 10:30 having to go to bellevue to pick up kelly and phillips to chinatown. it's so freaking early man, i'm not even awake. we went to Top Gun for dim sum. it's actually not bad. we started this alaska cruise conversation again. and I'm not really excited about it, afterall, it's alaska.....it's not like mexico or california. I'm interested about the food there though. but still...

went to jason's house to have some korean bbq, homemade. it's such a hassal, i was telling them to go out and they still want to eat in the house. i'm not full and the cooking pan is not hot enough, so it took forever to cook the stuff, i'm so impatient. and I'd rather go out and get some lesser quality food. but the food that jason made is really good, especially the lamb and the pork and the fish. also the octopus was good too. it's just too many people too small cooking stuff. oh well

Work is great, there are just two samples in the first two hours, so i slept through the whole session and went to break and started my day at 2:30. it's not bad. i drew my wallpaper on the heme computer, it's a piece of art work, you have to check it out sometime.

14hours in HMC

14 hours HMC non-stop, it's crazy. 've there since this morning. I've learned the enzyme bench today. aldolase, vitamin C, alkaline phosphatase and urine calcium. it's all done on the olyumpus AU400. it's a stupid instrument. only because the UI is not user friendly at all. but overall performance is okay coz it's quite easy to operate on the instrument hardware side, minimal maintaince is required. I also did CK iso-enzyems and macroamylase today. interestingly, macroamylase is simular to the macroprolactin, and we actually used the same PEG method to precipate all the macros and anaylzing its on the beckman coulter. pretty east day.

Talked to Kelvin when i'm in blood gas today, i told him how sucks UW is, the pool of estrogens and back stabbing. then he told me Ruth is leaving to oregon in OHSU to be a HLA tech and study PA. it's great! i'm glad for her, and I want her position!!! too bad she is leaving that soon. really want to work in HMC. my second choice will be any small hospitals where i get more patient contact.

Total Urea Nitrogen, CKBB

Total urea nitrogen is used to measure the nutritional status of ICU patients. As they have higher metabolism needs, increase protein intake is usually givin to those patients. the way to monitor whether patients are having sufficient proteins is to monitor the total Nitrogen excreation in a timed urine sample. This is no sounds as easy as it is. since protein metabolite exist in mutiple forms like urea and proteins itself. therefore, it is impossible to accurately measure each and every forms of nitrogen containing compounds exits in the urine. This method is such accurate because it first oxidize all of Nitrogen compound by extreme heat (hence "pyrochemiluminensences"). this reaction is kinda like this: NO: + O3 -----> NO2> by measure NO2 in a specific wavelength, (i think is from 600nm to 900nm). the concentration of NO2 is accurately determined.

Phu also showed me some CK electrophoresis today. it's so cool! the stuff I learned in lecture I actually get to do it in a real patient. the CSF CK electrophoresis is a very important test for physian to determine the amount of brain damage. Human has three iso-enzymes of CK. they are CKMM, CKMB, and CKBB. CKMM exist in the most abundant form in tissue, whereas CKMB exist most abundunt in cardiac tissue, therefore CKMB is one of the parameter used to determine the degree of Mycardio infraction. CKBB however is most abundant in the brain tissue. amount larger than certain percent bascially means that there are too much damage in the brain and the patient is no longer able to survive. with a high CKBB results. the physician has to determine whether or not to terminate the patient's life! yes, this is not joking matters. the life of a patient is really control by our hands. therefore it is really important to provide accurate result!!

Man i mean, what can beat clinical chemistry!? it's such a diverse field and the tests you do include so many different patient population. i mean, it's not heme you look at patietn's blood cells all the time. chem is range from STAT like BMP, blood gases, urinlysis to toxicology, endocrinology, immunology.....oh man, it's crazy.

Man jason invited me to his house for some satay he made. it's so good! especially the lamb satay.....it's really awsome. many thanks, he is such a great cook. may be he should paticipate the iron chef challenge. i'm sure he'll win. haha.

IOPTH

IOPTH, also known as Intra-operative Parathyroid hormone, is done when patient is having parathyroidsectomy surgery. A baseline is drawn before the surgery to determine the base PTH levels. the second baseline is drawn after the first cut of the surgery because the pt's might be stiumlated to produce more PTH. then blood sample collected in EDTA tube is collected after the incision of the parathyroid gland. if the incision is successful, a 50% drop of PTH levels after 5 minutes is observed. As you can see, the assay is performed during the surgery; Therefore rapid turn-around-time is essential. Roche Elecy system is used primary devoted to the IOPTH assay. it takes 7min for the assay to perform. The technologist have to run to the operating room to get the first baseline sample, then the nurse will run down to give us the sample...haha, so fun.

I did sirolimus today too. it's a immunosuppressive drug just like the cyclosporine and tacholimus. It is usually given to patient in combination with cyclosporine. but the assay is done on the LCMS (which UW don't have either the machine and knowledgable tech to do) so the sample is sent to HMC. the extraction part is basically the same as FK506. 200uL Precipatating reagent is added to 100uL of patient's EDTA whole blood and the supernatant is aliqouted into the LCMS sample vial. the assay takes about 4 min to run. again it's just the extraction part that takes the more labor. but compare to cyclospoin by HPLC, it's NOTHING. I love special chem. so funny, dannett and debbie taught me some tricks to be a chemistry lead, it's quite funny. always pretend you are busy and when people ask you how you are today, just say "ok" in a very bold way....hahaha. they are hilarious.

so don't want to leave for the senoir seminar today, having so much fun in the lab. went to U-teriyaki for lunch w. kari, clara, binh, anne, michell, mandy, stephen, sy and me. man we filled up the whole room. I had the rice cake soap, it's so filling can't even finish it. The seminar is okay. coz bryce came to talk about finacial management. it's quite interesting to learn about how the billing for the lab tests is like. he gave us some accounting stuff to work out, it's quite interesting. may be I'll take some accounting class. it's quite useful when determining which instrument to purchase. there are multiple factors affecting it. the other take about HIPPA and medicaid and medicare which is quite boring. I'm not ready to be a compliance officer. it's so.....x. Oh, today i ran into Iris on the bus stop. can you believe it? it's the first time I met iris on campus! funny thing is, she dressed like a chinese women. because she actually clip the bottom belt of her backpack, it's so funny, looks like she just came from "big land"....hahaha, almost laugh die.

When to BMW house for bible pre-study. it's better then i expected. mostly because this passage is kinda easy. however, we still stuck on some specific verse that will never be discussed in the actual bible study. since I'm sure people will fall asleep like debby and jason and janice.....they are so inpatient, which i understand. so basically, the study is not really followship oriented. but it's good to learn extra stuff right!? see, i'm so optimistic. anyway, I can't go this firday coz have to stay in HMC.....oh dear.

Oh my God!!!!! this is exactly what I'm talking about~! HMC rules! Work w. claire today. we worked on the nutrition bench doing ZPPH, Carotene and Protoporphyrins. I love special chem! it's so hands on. and it doesn't takes a day to extract, i just having so much fun! Clarie knows so much about the tests and she taught me her skills and stuff. so different from the XXXX people. The extraction for the carotene and porphyrin is cool! is the real chemistry. like organic chem lab but with much more advance equipment. The amount of stuff I learned today, is like two weeks worth in UW; and I just scratched the surface today. there are so much more. I just learned that Tom got a new breakthrough in his Vitamin D assay on his LCMS, so nice. now they can more the tests there soon. awsome! I felt so relax today and yet I learn so much stuff. oh man! HMC RULES!

Working on my research paper, it's due this friday!!!! oh dear 15 pages. I am just in my drafting stage.....oh man, Bryce, my supervisor just told me today I have to stay late after friday to work on something for him. that sucks, I might be there for 12 hours.

The measurment of prolactin in the clinical laboratory has aid the diagnosis of hyperprolactinemia in patients who experienced amenorrhea, infertility and galatorrhea and lack of libido in men. The cause of hyperprolactinemia is often idiopathic. Most patients with hyperprolactinemia are treated with dopamine agonists such as bromocriptine or cabergoline.

However, not all patients respones to dopamine thearpy; and it is soon realized that there are more than one kinds of macroprolactin. monomeric prolactin, big-prolactin, and big-big prolactin are the three isomer of prolactin. It is believed that only the monomeric prolactin are the bio-active form of prolactin; whereas big-big prolactin, also called macroprolacin are thought to be bio-inactive. Macroprolactin is a complex of monomeric prolactin and human immunogobulin G which has a molecular size of about 150-170kDa. The measuement of prolactin in clinical laboratory which uses immunoassays as the method of detection has a cross reactivity to the macroprolactin. Since the similar structure of macroprolactin and prolactin, measurement of prolactin has became challenging for laboratorian to determine whether macroprolactins are present in patient's plasma.

Currently, the use of Polyethlyene Glycol (PEG) is the most common method of seperating prolactin and macroprolactin from patients plasma. PEG is...PEG complex with the IgG end of the macroprolactin and the complex is being extracted out of the sample. A significant decrease of prolactin after the treatment of PEG strongly suggested the presence of Macroproctin.

Finally, back to my stomping ground. did Lymotrogenes on HPLC today, it's a epilesy drugs. Man, not after i try out the HPLC in UW, you'll really appreciate the excellent Agilent 8960 HPLC anaylzer. this baby can make it's own mobil phase and auto de-gas it. and the operation is all done on the computer programs and u can monitor the all the parameter on there. it's awsome. we pretty much finished early today, I have so much time to horse around in the lab. when to LX to chat w. joanna. did the UA compentance test with her. haha, i didn't even know I can apply for CE credits on that medtraining thing. I have like 8.5 hours of free credits this year, isn't that awsome?

Went to eating factory to celebrate Sy's birthday. the food is so so. Then we went to Sam's house w. Sy to play ghost recon 2....round 2. we all got better, so the game is so much more fun. but the night scene is just too hard. the guy come out from everywhere. we played for 5 hours straight until 2am...oh man felt so crappy the other day. oh dear. isn't the kids in this picture cute!?

I felt asleep in the middle of the sermon. startbucks sucks! had junior worship meeting today, i'm super tired. it's crazy. i'm really not into the conversation that they are having. just day dreaming. so bad. but i went to target to buy my iron...finally, my clothes don't have to be winkles anymore. ate panda express afterwards. the orange chicken is not bad, i'm starting to like it. so mad though they gave me the wrong thing! ding ar.

Went to Chiang's Gormet w. Twiggy, 's mom and weldon iris. we ordered so many food! it's crazy and can't believe we can finished the all of the food. it's such a great place. I like it. and Twiggy's mom treat us all. she said it's like new year dinner. oh dear, so surprise and thanks. it's so funny the Ph.D Max is living next to twiggy. he is quite handsome i think, a good match for twiggy. but she said he looks like jerphy too much so it would be like dating her own brother.....i was like, super "um ding". Went to twiggy's house to watch "kung fu" by stephan chow, it's pretty different from his style, it's okay, can't say is awsome. it just reminds me of Matrix. the CG is definately comparable to the american flim, which i was quite surprise.

Work was quite good, I took some pills, caffeine, grande-white-mocha to be exact. i was awake for the whole time. so funy working w. milena, we swear at each other, haha, good kind of swear. she is like my sister. I did some searching for the prolactin functions and studied some metabolic pathways to refresh my biochemistry...haha, geek. the microbiology board is so funny, somebody wrote "spread some love in valentines day and come get tested".....hahaha, they are so mean.

such a great series, can't believe it's not popular. I like Bill, he is so funny....although he is a geek. haha. Can't believe watched this TV series in HK back in the days too. some of the scence is so touching. haha. I watched the whole series already.....16hrs crazy. The show has everything I ever want out of a TV show. Comedy, drama, real-life situations, relatable characters, clever writing and solid acting. And it failed?

Tonight is retreat rally, the movie jason and twiggy made is quit good, even w. the intro songs. quite funny. There were so many people yesterday. the food was great too. hope the retreat was great too, as always. can't believe I forgot to bring my cheque book. anyway. went right back home to finish my "Freaks and Geeks"

Ghost recon 2 it's so fun! Me, Sy and Sam played for 5 hourse straight! and we have exam the next day! oh dear, ti's such are great game, the graphics are so real and it's really funny when you see the people speaking korean. The essence of this game is really the muti-player mode. (like all the other Xbox game). it's just makes the game 10times more fun than playing it alone. all the team work and hiding, snipering and machine gunning. haha, it's so fun figuering out how to beat the game together, having our own little stragey.Man we should do this more often.

Sy made chicken katsu, it's unbelievably good. i was really surprised. coz he uses chinken thigh thats why. and he is a japanese. the juicy crunchy fried chicken is just amazing, a job well done. i think he should work on the Ave and beat the crap out of all the shitty Korean Japanese Terikyy place and show the UW crowd some real japanese food. (this might not work since there are so many korean in UW)

yea! Jim is cool, he let me go after I did the 70's draw on the afternoon. it's awsome! I don't have to go in anymore! I really like it there. Got a HCV to draw today, kinda scary. then there is a girl who just learn that she has cancer, it's kinda said and don't know how to comfort her when I'm drawing her blood. she started crying on me....it's kind of odd. wish her well. Then there is this very elegant irish lady, she is full of british accent!! my favorite! and she is such a strong women, don't scare at all. so fun to chat w. man she really made my day! she was so little and funny. it makes me more energics to carry on my work! she is my model man. affecting people around you, not seeing you as a burden instead as a leader in spirit. I really felt great drawing her blood (not the drawing part, but the conversation part). she is so cute. hahaha.

By the way. HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! I had the best oyster in my life today. Uncle ben from vancouver were driving back from UCLA w. his Cardarllic, and he bought a whole gallon of fresh orengon coast oyster! it's unbelieveble, I'm not even a oyster fan myself, but after the first one, i just can't stop eating it! it's crunchy juicy yet, without the fishy smells and the disgusting jello part. you can definately tell it's the freshest and best oyster you can get! omg! and kelly just gave me the the cruise book that our whole family will be going during the summer, awsome! alaska cruise, all you can eat foods and drinks! i must gain 10 pounds after that trip. too bad, i've bet it'll be more fun going w. friends, but it's alright. at least i don't have to pay, haha.

man I love my day. what a great day. I drew 20some people today and it's really fun talking to the patients. some of them just cracks me up! there is a old mexican lady that looks like my grandma, she taught me some spanish, it's very cool. and she wasn't even scare of the needle, what a strong woman! then there is a girl getting her T-cell subset, kinda scared, and be extra careful, Sandy told me to becareful too,....i was like, okay, that's comforting. but it turned out good. well, make some bubu, and missed a few of them, good that Jorge was there, and he redirected them to the right veins. most patients are really nice, and had a nice chat w. them, it's just great! I love the patients interaction thing, now i really want to work in a small hospital where I get to draw blood and do EKGs and still have the oppurtunities to do some lab works, it's great! you know I just don't wanna leave today, I just wanna stay there and get more patients, it's so fun!! I love calling them into the room, have a little chat w. them, asking how they are today. you really get to know more about the tests and how the paitents, and be more professional in doing the lab works. it's the essential part of the lab process! it's also great w. the med tech background coz you basically know what the patients has and you can tell them how the tests is done and how long it takes!.....FK506? i've did that!!! lead, aluminium, BMP, COMP, T3, T4, HLA typing, hahaha, it's great!

went to IMA again, surprised I wasn't even tired after running for 10 minutes....haha, getting better and better. i love the weight machines on the first floor, it's looks so cool. so is the AB thing, losing my belly! haha. man I can't get this songs out of my head, it's so cool, the french piano solo. it's such a simple composition, but it's so addicting, i'm thinking about it all day. such are fun day. I realized it's pretty fun drawing blood from patients, coz I know what tests the MD ordered, and I basically know what the patient has. it makes me much willing to do the tests for the patients. it's very very fun. know the whole scope of laboratory works. some patients are really nice, actualy most of them are. then you get some grumpy ones, they'll say like " are u good at this?" or "don't tell me you are trainee"...but it's good, most of them will cooperate. I like it there. Indeed, it's so fun that I didn't even realized it's 5:30 when I looked at the clock. oh dear, i've work for 9 hours. thats is very tiring. Today there is a patients got 20 tubes drawn.....they order every possible tests on the requistion slip.....oh dear, I felt very very sorry for that guy, and he is hooked up to the respirator and you have to see how thin he is. oh dear. it's pretty amazing he can still survive. I also can't believe that are so many transplant patients here. I has so many FK506 and cyclosporin drawn today. most of the patients has more exprience than me...the third thing i cannot believe is how many chinese people in the phelbotomy. anne, roland and Jin. Worked w. Katy today too, she is really cool, new graduate applying for med school. having fun in their life. So funny when I came in today, the supervisor didn't remember I'm coming in tody for training. too bad.

Sy came to do laundry, and this time i think my tentant found out. haha, too bad, i guess no more laundry for him. Went to IMA afterwards, always feels good after a good run and some excersise and sauna. feel so awake afterwards! it's pretty awsome.

today's sunday service was great. I was so touched by the c-ban's songs.....don't know why. I used to dislike that song, but today, it's just something inside me that clicked my heart. oh dear. let me find the lyrics sin. Today pastor Shiu talked about how go stirred out sprit. yea, i really really need it. i can't stay in the same position year after year. Pastor Shiu's description of christian is so....true. his observation is valid and refreshing and provoked me to remind myself of my own position. hope i'll live up to God's expectation and may I glorify him in my daily life. Junior worship is great. Issack is such a smart kid....hope he won't went the wrong path in life.

Went to New Kowloon for lunch, it's so fun everytime. and it came out to be cheap, $7/person. I'm very very full. Harborview is having dim sum lunch this friday. it's good that I had it today, so I won't miss that one. awsome! I'm lovin it. Justin were hella mean to Rene, haha, they have some kind of issues.....well, it's not something i can control. Jeff asked me to go to Gameworks afterwards, too bad I was really tired. Besides, I have xbox at home....Ghost recon 2 is really fun. not to mention my James bond game, i still have a long way to go for that.

Aww, tomorrow have to go in for Phelbotomy. haven't done it for a long time. did the practice exam, I stil remember okay much stuff. hope won't make some bubu mistakes or kill any patients. I actually like drawing blood. you really get to know the patients you are doing the tests on. Besides, w. a med tech background, you'll be curious what tests the docs ordered and what the patients has....it's great having be able to understand the whole process of laboratory testing. it's really a team work. I really wish to work in a small hospital so that I get to draw blood and do some EKG for the patients and still be able to perform laboratory works. I started my job hunting. I saw a Pathology Assistance position opened. i really want to apply.....should I?

went to costco w. Sam, hoping to run into Jean, sam said she goes to the kirkland costco w. her hasband.....too bad, she wasn't there. bought some fuji apples and salad. ahh, it's great. i love crunchy juicy apples. i ate three already that night. then went to the greek restaurant at kirkland. the greek guy is so funny, i love local restaurant, they give that kinda warmth family feeling. Can't beat the lamb Gyro. but the Balkava was not as good as joanna's home made one. it's too sweet, and lack the refreshing taste within the sweetness inside......aww! i forgot to buy swimming goggle! sucks.

then watched freaks and geeks at sam's house. I can't believe i watched it long time ago. I didn't understand that much back in the days. coz i don't know the american slangs. but now.....it's such a good show! it's a very real description of how highschool is like. even colleges. Work is great! once again: I MISS HARBORVIEW! working w. amos and Milena has been fun and challenging. I really want to work in such environemnt where people are not so "talk-shit-behind-each-other" and has such a positive working environment. they tell you what they don't like about you and resolve the problem....thats how a man would do it, thats the harboview way. besides, people are more knowledgable. I felt that there are so much to learn in there. Freaky friday, just kidding, it was my last day @ UWMC chem...i'm happy. FK506 is easy, but there are lots of manuel pippetting and stuff, it's a lot of work! Brook is okay. I wish my control in my first run was out...coz she made me do every single one of the samples after that!!.....i was like, WHAT!? free labor again! but i found out that the Ranin pippett has lots of function!! and the lab people is definately unestimating it's ability. it can multi pippett, mix, cycle count.....you see, when people get old, they just want to get the job done and go home, they lost the fun in the lab. so bad, Binh caught me pretending listening brook's BS, i was like " really!? wow! thats awsome!? good for you!"...haha, super fake. but I really don't care. oh there is a funny incident today. When i got back the bench from lunch, there were only one tech on the bench. she seems very nervous when i walk close by....I soon found out the reason why. SHE JUST FARTED!!! oh man, you have to look at her embarrassing face, it's the funniest thing. Having not to embarrass her, I said "hmm, let me check if there are new samples in the fridge"....i play it cool huh. (it still stink though). well, it made my day.

Summary of UWMC chem training:
it's really not that bad, only the first week on the stupid Axsym, i don't know why i have issue w. it. they people talk shit behind each other, but i kinda got used to it. there are some people I really like there, like jean and Nga, quite fun working w. them. but still, there are too much estrogen floating around, i don't know if i can handle it. one then I notice, is most of the guys there are in a lead positions, so it's actually not bad. I guess all the cat fight don't get the girls anywhere. UW is really a place where real chemistry happens, there are all these cool instruments like Zeeman Solaar flamless atomic absorption anaylzer, Perkman Elmer flame AA, Waters HPLC, the nicolas (dis)advantage, the Immulite and immulite 2000, the Abbott TDX and IMX, LCMS. it has really manual stuff and it has to be, coz all the extraction and stuff takes almost half a day. Cyclosporin by HPLC and CIM is fun, the VMA is fun too, too bad i did it w. Rowena. Just imagin how many benches there are! I actually really want to work there if you take out all the estrogen. (not trying to be sex discriminate here).

we has hotpot at church! it's crazy! 50 people at least. it's the best hotpot I ever had, not that food thats good, it's the people who you are eating with. our table has all the "big eat" people. Justin, Eric, Joe, PK, Wayne, Enoch. it's so fun, just like playing games. so funny, we just pour all the food on the tray to the pot. not like other table,...doing it one by one. we finished two full tray! it's like 20 pounds of food! haha. I know I'll miss it, this thing won't happen once in a while. Thanks for the people who prepared this awsome food for us, Jason, Cyrus, Catherine, Xu, and Zhong. they are awsome. The games afterwards is fun too, simple but fun. so bad ar ha, weldon iris and andrew weren't here. Gillien leaving us to boston, wish she have a bright future and may God be w. her and give her wisdom in her academic studies.

Worked w. Nga today, it's actually much better than I expected. Work at the HPLC side today, it's crazy!!! all of my internal standards in HPLC B are low....i don't know what happened!! I repeated like three times for some samples! so it's obviously not my problem, it's the extraction part. but it's all good working w. Nga is my 2nd favorite. she is actually very talkative. so funny.

Went to IMA again today, I felt great afterwards. can't believe it actually woke me up. it's time to lose my belly and get some muscles man. too bad I loast my goggle! Went to sushiyama w. sam aftewards, it's not as good anymore. I think sushiland in QueenAnn is much better....and they don't have green tea ice cream!!! that is unacceptable! Can't believe Sam's TSX tires cost like $4000....sucks to be you. The whole food market in Bellevue is so huge. and their bakery is awsome. the peach scone one of the best. surprised they have cooking classes for all the boring moms, haha,...and they have live music too!! wonder how much they have to pay for that.

oh dear, haven't been here forever! re-write my diary sin....i'll try my best.

today i did cyclosporin w. Myra, she is cool. There are hella samples! can't believe it. and I can't believe it takes half a day to extract the cyclosporin from the blood....that means if u FUBAR, there is no turning back. and it's a one shot deal. Okay, I today I was on the HPLC side. so don't have to do all the manual extraction, which is good. However, Joe was training one of the old tech....and she is "rustolius"! she broke one of the tubes, and vacuume some of the samples away, and drop some of the spun samples.....OH DEAR. and when me and myra ran the samples on the HPLC, like half of them was shot in internal standard.....that sucks! Afterall, who says chemistry was easy.....I believe people who are a successful chemist are good in both skills and knowledge. clinich chemist are problem solver, they are team player, they are good pipetter, they are good planner, they are thinker, they are fast learner, they are adaptatble and they are smart! if you think you are not this kind of person, please do not apply to be a clinical chemist, coz i'm sure you'll mess up the patients in the hospitals.....

I've been told that I'm cocky, but there is a reason. One time i reported a critical serum ionized calcium to a nurse, she question me if it's a total calcium. I was like, dude, if the patitent has a total Ca of 0.68, he/she will be dead. you know sometimes you HAVE to be confident and "cocky" when you are presenting youself to other professionals. or they might think you are not sure about what you are talking about. I'm happy in what i have presented myself to other people. at least i'm competent in that i'm doing. hey, i love chemistry! it's totally an awsome job. and it's very technical......haha, i remember how Deni said " i can't believe they paid me that much to do this job" yep, we are paid to troubshoot, to monitor, when things goes wrong. not what we really do in the lab, coz i believe everybody can put stuff on the LX and press the button. but it's the professional judgement that we have to questionable results is what we here for.

can't believe Binh skip again, he is screwed. We didn't finish the work until 4:30,it's crazy, if it's not for the stupid repeating tests, we could've made it. so tired after today, went straight to bed afterwards. damn it, i was going to go to IMA........sorry to learn that Sam's car got jack man! all his wheels are gone! can you believe it? in his own garage!?......how ghetto

cyclosporin w. Deni and Joe

not bad, a quite day. only like 15 samples. I did cyclospoin by the way. It's a immunosuppressive drugs for tansplant patients. It is VERY toxic, so monitering them after transplantation is essential. There are two ways to detect the levels of cyclosporin at the UW; by Immnoassays and by HPLC. it's actually much faster doing it by immunoassays, but some old docs are used to seeing the HPLC results so it's still surviving. HPLC results are generally lower than the immunoassays. They have differenc reference ranges due to the the reason that the two tests has different sensitivity. Using the immunoassays methods gives a higher results due to the reasons of the antibody cross-reactivity reaction w. other compounds in patient's plasma. the HPLC method is more sensitive as it first extracted through the coloum which minize many interference. Then it is ran though the HPLC column which seperates cyclosporin by size and shape. both of the test, however, will eventually going to be switch to the LCMS, it's has less tedious extraction and much faster TAT. current HPLC methods takes half a day to extract the cyclosporin from the blood. and it's so labor intensive and highly technical. You'll easily mess up a whole day of run by doing ONE little mistakes, and there are million things could go wrong.....your HPLC moblie phase, your injection, the extraction column, contaminations, internal standard. it's really a piece of art work if you can get it to work......after you did the test, you'll feel like a true clinical chemist. i'm serious! it's totally awsome, compareble to the GCMS in HMC. i'm loving it.

Such a nice picture isn't it. took it from spring quater taking Ocenagraphy 220. it's a fun class, got a chance to go to Friday Harbor for three days, it's a lot of fun in there. This is lake union i believe, we went to do some basic research about the water dynamics around the puget sound. sound's cool huh! saw lots of algae and planktons in the ocean, they have really beautiful shapes, can't believe they are they one who support the whole food chain systems. One thing that I remember is that they have a big ass 30" 16:9 plasma TV in the research ship........it's very eye catching. very cool stuff.

first time pianist

yep, it's my first time being afternoon service pianist. didn't FUBAR but it's not great, miss some stupid notes.....oh dear, didn't have a chance to practice, i really wish i have a piano in my room. i really miss playing it afterwards. you know people in SCAC is not very encouraging, like yin and justin.....dude, you really don't have to tell me that i miss that note, coz i know i did. i wish i have more chances to practice too.....i would say there are some stuff that hold me back from going to church sometimes. but i know i don't go there for the people, i go there for God, to serve Him. but in the same time I'm so selfish and can't put away my personal pride like "most" of us in the church.....so sometimes i don't see the point of going to church when i see people back stab each other. and talk shit about one another...i don't see any love or real interlectual conversation going on. it's all sratch the surface things....to be serious, i'm having my down time in my sprituals life. God.....help me.

it's the first time working w. Amos in midnight. it's not bad at all. and me and melana are super joking w. each other...oh man I miss harborview!!!! it's just more fun working there. people is more supporting. Okay, tonight 3 out of 5 of my ABL725 needs troubleshoot. i were so mad on one of them that i finally changed the Na membrane, it's freaking stupid! i'm sure somebody messed up the membrane. can't really get the controls in and the patient's duplicates are awful.....but it's fine, i still went to sleep afterwards

Had Kikuya w. Sam and Charlene. hahah i can have Charashi EVERY SINGLE DAY! Then I bought Ghost Recon 2, it's such a good game, very difficult for me though, coz i'm a newbie in shooting games. the graphic is so real. it's like you are actually in the warzone. very crazy. I'm so glad it's Friday, Flame AA and the Zeeman Solaar systme is cool, but there is basically not really much samples. knowing the Idea is cool, it's quite complicated and I'm sure not all the tech in UWMC knows how it works....(which sucks).

1. working w. Jeaane is really fun! she is awsome, laughed a lot. too bad i messed up her run or something, the duplicates of some patients are just werid....and i have to leave for senoir seminar, sorry.....
2. working w. Qunicy is okay, she is left handed....so, we both tried to rush the stuff. hahah, it's like a race, quite stressful. but there are tons of samples on monday. it's all good.
3. working w. Colleen is funny. didn't chat w. her a lot, since she is not really into the chemistry stuff. and she had kids and stuff, work just isn't her priorities. it's funny when she gave me the evaluations....(too bad you can't evaluate me, no one can, sucks to be you)
4. working w. Minh is okay also. we finished the run a little bit after lunch. so i basically just did some reading in the lab
5. working w. Rowena.....don't even start me on this. okay, first, she did all her samples herself and I basically just did one controls and one patients and watched the whole process, and it's really not that difficult to do. and I really question her knowledge about the test. okay, i got like 4.9ng/mL VMA and she got like 5.8ng/mL, but my samples sat on the bench for like an hour before I can read mine....so basically here is the reason why the result is different. 1. it's a different calibration curve 2. the samples sat there for more than an hour; and she said "i believe you can do better!" I was like. Okay to prove that I'm right, I ran her samples (which is from the same patient)...guess what I got? 4.6!!! dude, it stats clearly that the samples has to be read within an hour. and i am not stupid. She just tried to make me look like i didn't do a good job...whatever, most of the old techs don't care about teaching and they try to find fault on you, it's like they are worry that we are going to take there jobs or something. (whicn I think we should)

ah, haven't wrote on here for awhile. guess why? I was busy playing 007 in Xbox, it's so fun. I'm loving it! haha

today was great, endocrinology is lay back and yet I learned a lot of things. The nicolas Advantage is a very stupid machines. (an other thing made by white trash). The programs sucks in gerneral and how it label the icons is so not user-friendly. Did a routine PTH and IGF1 tests today, they cost hella! can't believe it. it's like $150/samples/run.....amazing. so today my earnings will be almost $4000 for doing....very minimal work. I love it! haha. and Debbie is a great tech. she asked me if I want to work there after I graduate. haha, I was like, wow, thats easy to find a job.....Binh finally came to work, he missed like 2 days and had a 5 days weekend, that cheap bastard! I can't believe it. too bad he have to work w. Miriam today. she seems nicer. well, in gernal, the people seems nicer this week, may be i was outta Axsym...i don't know. I just hated that machines so much. and the pool of estrogens floating aroud that bench. that sucks.

Worked was good, don't even remember anything, coz i was too sleepy. quite crazy, haha. So tired at church already, I slept half of the sermon, felt so sorry. Kids service is fun. Issac is os freakin funny. they asked how we could helped out other. you know as a normal kids, they'll say " i helped my mom washing dishes, I helped my dad clean the car, I helped washing the dishes, blah blah blah, guess what Issac said? "I helped people switching to Geico!" hahahhaa, he is hella smart and funny. have so much potential. my favorite kid of all time. Went right back home to sleep afterwards, so tired.

woke up, it's only 4, went to som's house to play some xbox.....JAMES BOND IS AWSOME! such a fun game, super awsome graphics, super fun game! just makes me wants to buy xbox more...so great. went to purple dot for food before work again, ran into rene enoch and joe eric. can't believe sam don't like the Pourtugese baked chicken! stupid.

Went to Chaing's gormet w. andrew, gilbert, jason, weldon and iris again today, it's a really nice authentic taiwanese restaurant, the food is really good. not bad at all! the food iris' mom recommand was awsome. good taste. There were so many taiwanese people there that night. it's crazy, i guess they are having some kinds of of alumli party or something. Afterwards went to andrew's house to play a game of BANG! I won being the renegate!!! hahaha, so nice. I also played ghost recone 2 and marcross, it's so fun! like it love it. sucks having to go to work.

So nice, called in sick today, don't have to face those stupid moms in the lab. what a day. got up at 9 and watched Tuxedo and S.W.A.T. and went back to sleep, haha, beat that on a friday morning! Then got up at 4, got some jamba juice and went to church to practice some more piano, 70% till perfect. One day away from that lab, it's a bless for me. It was game night yesrterday in fellowship, all the games were from "super mo dig cheng moon yan", it was soso. Clifford was back from UC berkeley. Joe and eric came too, felt kinda weird, coz I only see them in Chevron. There were so many people there, it's crazy. I scared the hell outta jessica when she tried to tickle me. afterall, we are at different levels. you might come back few years later. Went to purple dot afterwards, haven't been there for awhile, I asked felix to buy xbox for me, he said he'll lend me one from Herman. interesting. was hella tired after the dinner. afterall, it's almost 1am, crazy. today went by really fast, precious my holiday I made for myself.

dude, I'm seriously doing free labor, the big fat CTII is just sitting around and chat w. the people today, I'm seriously not going to let it happened. Therefore, I am calling in sick tmw. yes, it's my first time calling in sick, and guess what? i have a long weekend~! awsome! I learned everything I needed to learn on Axsym and there is no more that I really need to know about. can't blame me about it. it's all cynthia's fault. Me and binh were seriously horsing around too much, haha, those women, just like the VA moms, got jerlous. Today they are arguing moving the UA iris instruments....u know, 7 woman making a decision = bad idea. 1. they are undecisive, 2. they can't take up changes in their life. 3. they have too much ego in them. 4. they don't even have a brain. the UA bench turned to a market or something. "eww, i don't like how this is put; eww, i don't like the iris, it's so troublsome, eww, we won't have rooms anymore, eww this, eww that. OMG~! I MISS HARBORVIEW! I miss special chem! I miss the GCMS and HPLC, I miss the people there. They are so much cooler and smarter. the waywomen do stuff is so different, they seems like they have a very good plan, but it's sucks. men always sit down and joke around not because they are lazy, but because they have better plans and organizational skills. hMiriam kept bringing me those routine samples one by one, i was like, dude! I do it as a batch, it'll make ur life easier fool! she was running around my bench like a dog or something (always sniffing on you, can't sit down, mess around w. ur stuff); trying to make herself looks like she has a lot of stuff to do, super annoying....to te MAX.

"Aww, did you fart!? it smells horrible!" thats what i shouted at Binh in the toliet when we are peeing, he was like "hell no!" but I did smelled something very awakening, it's very disgusting. (I asked him out loud in the toilet assuming there are no one there....). Yes, unfortunately, there is actually someone in the back taking a dump.......I was hella embarrass. binh even crow down and looked at his feet.....we were trying so hard to keep ourselves from laughing while washing out hands......it's so freaking funny! it made my day! seriously. If I were that guy, I would problably cry. Worked w. Quincy today, she was fun HK too, quite smart, 've been working at the U for four years already. it's fun working side by side w. binh, remind me of the times in Heme lab. aways being "acrimonious" to him, haha, it's so fun. Oh dear, have to work w. Brook tmw, heard that she is pretty tough, wish me luck.

There you go, are picture from last spring i think. we were talking about making asian food for the white girls, ended up at my place, i made hella stuff that day, which i've never maded before. surprisingly the orange chicken turns out to be awsome after i put it in the oven (it's was so crappy when i was just finished cooking). other then that, i don't remember much, coz were kinda drunk and tired from all the cooking and drinking. Binh bought some cream puff from Than brother, good job. and sam made some his favoriate kechup fried rice. My apt was so crappy, i don't even have enough chairs and we all ate on the floor. It's still better from the vancouver trip back in the days, where we were all drunk and throwing stuff at each other.

My first day on special Chem, you'll be amazed how fast you can forget stuff and how quickly u can regain it. It's all good. Axsym is hella easy....can't believe Cynthia is putting me on Axsym, there are basically the same as HMC, and they can't even get their Myoglobin controls in. The only tests that they do extras are the Homocysteins and all the Thyroid panels. Trained w. Joe today, pretty fun, he went jogging during lunch time, can't believe it. I went to CCC at the HUB, haven't been there since last summer. it's crazy. I don't know much of the people, but the curry is certainly awsome. I once thought jason made it.

SPS is hella fun! they have a young group of people there and so many crouching tiger hidden dragon. Cameron is going to dental school and the other girl is going to get her micro Ph.D . oh dear, they are hella fun! I got a call today, and the girl asked for patient Menoff, first name Jack.......i was like. wtf!? (if you read it the other way u'll see). I was like.....ahh.....how do u spell it!? and then the micro girl was laughing so hard! They do that to every new people! and the call was from Betrice, that bastard, try to trick me! but it was fun. then I got another call, and the pt's name was....Wanker. I was like, is that another joke!? I almost laugh die. but it's a real patient. work wise, SPS is pretty boring and you have to do a lot of paperwork, it's only the people there that keeps you have the intentions to work. anyway, I learn to appreciate the hardwork of SPS, they are cool. Today is kinda short, coz of the snow, there is no chuch and I slept till 2 after work. I start to miss HMC already. don't know whats there to learn in SPS. at least i can see a lot of UW people thats cool, it's like back to school.

took some time to reconfigure my room coz of the new TV, it's kinda messy now, but having a TV at home is just essential. can't live w/o it. so many stuff at my room. hope I don't have to move soon. I just realized I don't have to commute anymore! just need to take 68! awsome. finally can enjoy the privilage of living near campus. I heard UW chem is "great".....I'll see.

Okay, here is another picture taken outside Odegaard library 5am in the morning. Result of studying non-stop for medical Microbiology final @ winter quater. I remembered the dark ages. that class sucks coz when I took summer micro, the stuff is so much better presented so it's so much more easy. Well, it's all over now. Trust me, thats the last time I spent a night at Odegaard. won't do it anymore. I also remembered how crazy we party after that final. it's all dranken donuts. coz that night is also St. Patricks day, we went down the irish pub, there are so many people there. pretty crazy. then we went for mid-night Jack in the Box. and saw some guy pee on the Ave, while Anne is still sitting on her toliet sits at her house.....hahaha. fun times. Woke up at 3pm...Finally bought a TV from Bestbuy, they are quite cheap! $139 for 20' TV w. built in DVD. and it's not some crappy brand, it's Philips! Went to bellevue square waiting for stupid weldon and andrew for kikuya; realizing I still have Amos' Lego gift card! yea! I bought the 1:17 Enzo Ferrari, it's awsome! look so cool! give me something to do in the lab. Then BR's boxers on sale! dude! I finally got enough boxer that I can extend my laundry to three weeks. great! Then when to Kikuya, it's so embarrasing...okay, the waiter came to us and ask for most tips, so x ar ha, someone is not paying enough! just embarassing, as expected. Now, i can't go back there for at least three months until they forget me. thanks to you~!

Work, devoted all my time to play w. the Enzo Ferrari, it look so cool. It's actually quit busy today! ding ar. Have to change membrane for 3 blood gas machines today, and 2 went out for code cart, Hernan said the guy in ER has some nasty stuff happened. the MVA cut his leg and the whole part of fresh came out, u can actually see his bones. and other went for a code 199, they just died on you, nothing special. quit awsome. snow came at 3am! it's so beautiful! Thats why I like seattle, it has winter and summer, it's an awsome place to live. I hitted the curb today sliding back home, the hill is too steep that there is not enough friction, so lucky didn't break the tires, thank God. have to do manaul ABS. have to admit it's kinda fun, i'm up for some more sliding. but not w. my car.

My last day to HMC, I'm sure I'll miss it, had such a fun time there. Today Tom showed me his LCMS/MS, it's a very cool instrument, you just can't imagin how minute amount of analyte it can measure; 1 pico gram per milliter liter. Thats 10 to the power negavite 12!!! It works just like a GCMS but with the ability for quantitation. It is basically a combination of HPLC and two MS system. The trick is how to transfer the liquid ran throgh the HPLC to gas state so that the GC can analyze. Explantion of "how it works" is too advance, and I'm sure nobody will regconizes it ability. The two MS part, also call the tandem mass spec is basically a selective process. The first MS is set up as such that only compound w. the exact a.m.u can pass throgh Then the gas will be bombared w. an inert gas such as Argon. Unlike the GCMS, the compound is broken down into a larger compound. for instanc a compoud w. mass 300, when a H2O is knocked off, it'll become 282. By measuring only the 282 signal, you are able to quantitate your compoud.

Ever wonder what there down the Beacon Ave?? went to church early today planning to practice some piano, but there are nobodys there! so, I went to drive around. I just really curious where the hell the 36 bus goes, "rainer beach"!? Driving down beacon ave for about 3 miles will get you to renton!!! oh dear, thats pretty shocking. and there is actually a beach there (tell me about it...) I also found out Hong Kong restaruant were on the way too! haha, so ghetto. Well, one of my curiosity is fullfilled, checked.

Morgan led the bible study, it's quite cool, the way to inducitve BS, jason's ribs are awsome, unbelieveble. ben's rating =9/10. It's MW's birthday, thats why we have so many food, haha, but not that hungry yet. went to Kakaloc. So many people, there are like 10 dishes of food! so happy. too bad I wasn't that hugry, and they don't believe me! whatever. and somebody bailed out...yea! its you! Iris and Weldon!

IT'S SNOWING when I drove back to UD. Kit was so excited about it she almost cried. oh dear. FOB! just kidding. Then sam called for some X-boxing, we finished the Halo2 story mode. kinda cool. played till 4am, and thats my 23hrs non-sleep day.

HPLC

HPLC is hella fun, it's like back to LabM 418, but w. much better equipment. I like it because it has many manual preparations and lots of wait time! haha, yep, that means i got lots of free time. it's awsome. it's and other instrument that you have to set it up right in the beginning and off you go! working w. Agnes is kinda X. coz she can't get her butt on the chair, so I guess that why she had an unsuccessful run today. It's kinda funny. As you can see from the picture, seperation results of a HPLC is translated to a graphical presentation either by spectrophotometry or mesuring it's potential difference. Each peaks (D, N,Q,G,E...) represents a specific compound seperated by the HPLC. depending on the resolution, the purity of compound varies. The Quantification of specific matters in body fuild depends on few process: extraction, seperation, and dectection. Extraction in HPLC is a process to eliminate unwanted compounds and preserve you analyte of interest. Seperation of compounds by their size, charge and reaction to the stationary phase determines the time it travels through the column. The faster it same out, the smaller the charge and less reactive to teh stationary phase. Now how do we actually find out the amount of stuff in the graph? By drawing a baseline through each peaks, the area is calculated and it is related to it's amount. Internal standards, which has a known concentration and volume has to be added to each run in order to: 1. eliminate run to run variation, 2. actually quantitate your analyte by this equation: (Peak height of analyte/Peak height of Internal standard) x (Peak height of internal standard/ Peak height of standard). This might be confusing, the Standard is used to calibrate ur instrument. they have known concentrations such as 20mg/mL std, 50mg/mL, 100mg/mL. A "standard curve" is generated by plotting the best fit line from the data. The concentration of patient's sample can be determine by looking at the std curve. Remember: internal is added to every run, including ur standard, patients and controls. <-----hey i'm telling you the basis of analytical chemistry. it's a pretty easy concept and it's used in many aspect of instrumentation in the clinical lab. remember: you use Standards to calibrate your instrument, controls to QC your system, and patient samples to make $$.

Harborview is really a nice place, I really enjoyed my time there, it has been educational and fun! There people there are nice (most of them), and the environment is awsome; large area, and high-tech instrumentation. Got my final evaluation today from Debbie, She is really fun, you know, sometimes you just can't imagin people are that interesting and fun to talk to w. that age. I didn't say she is old, but it's just amazing. Got a good evaluation from her, it's cool. I love chem! all the cool instruments, especially the special chem section, it's like crazy science back there! it's a blast! to those who hate chem: you won't love chem until you actually doing the cool stuff, in which not many people got a chance to coz they don't stay long enough, and they all goes to the low tech micro or hematology. in conclusion, I LOVE HMC CHEMISTRY! totally a ideal place to work!

I'm a GCMS machine!

Today got hella long tox samples. and got a spoon from the floor for drug testing!?!?!? yep, it's kinda fun. it's like forensic. but that damn thing over shoot my coloum and i have to do lots of burn to clean it. The guy is taking oxycodone, that sucks. Then I got another SHDS.....crazy, I almost got some cholestrol into the tube, Thank God the result came out good, it's a one shot deal sample...very scary. Marsha gave me 2 more unknowns and they both over shooted my column!!! AGAIN! I was like, ding ar. but the unknowns are cool, other than the cocaine metabolies, I found cocaethylene, which is form when people take cocaine and alcohol together. you'll die much faster if you do that....haha, too bad, you asked for it. Then the other interesting case is the ephedrine peak, I have to combine two peaks to get it! it's like they are hiding. very tricky. ( I warmed the urine too much and when I pippett it out of the bottle, it smells like X! so awful.

When to the R&T building for a research interview, sucks that my schedule doesn't fit in. that research is kinda cool coz they are adding different kinds of drugs to the mouse lung to see whether they repairs itself. Since Acute lung injury like COPD and ARDS are deardly and there are currently no treatment for it. so inorder to speed up the repair mechinasm, Growth factor like EGF, HGF can be administered to the oedemafluid speed that process up. There are many different pathway that people proposed that affect the repair process, mainly affect the Type II cells regeneration and decrease inflammation. pathways like STAT and IL1alpha, are studied in vitro but not in vivo. Little has been known about the mechanism since there is no extensive research done on it.

Cocaethylene is a psychoactive ethyl homologue of cocaine, and is formed exclusively during the coadministration of cocaine and alcohol. Not a natural alkaloid of the coca leaf, cocaethylene can be identified in the urine, blood, hair, and neurological and liver tissue samples of individuals who have consumed both cocaine and alcohol. With a pharmacologic profile similar to cocaine, it can block the dopamine transporter on dopaminergic presynaptic nerve terminals in the brain. It increases dopamine synaptic content, provoking enhanced postsynaptic receptor stimulation, resulting in euphoria, reinforcement, and self-administration. Equipotent to cocaine with regard to dopamine transporter affinity, cocaethylene appears to be far less potent than cocaine with regard to serotonin transporter binding. Lacking the serotonergic-related inhibitory mechanism, cocaethylene appears to be more euphorigenic and rewarding than cocaine. Synthesized and administered cocaethylene has a behavioral stimulation profile similar to cocaine. Cocaethylene has been shown to be less potent and equipotent to cocaine, and alcohol plus cocaine produces more stimulatory locomotor behavior in mice than either drug alone. Equipotent to cocaine with regard to primate reinforcement and self-administration, cocaethylene can substitute for cocaine in drug discrimination studies, and can produce stimulation of operant conditioning in rats. With regard to lethality, cocaethylene has been shown to be more potent than cocaine in mice and rats. The combination of cocaine and alcohol appears to exert more cardiovascular toxicity than either drug alone in humans. Alcohol appears to potentiate cocaine hepatotoxicity in both humans and mice.

I was doing a SHDS sample, having little excitement about it since i doubt i'd find anything in that guy.....but guess what? I look throught every single little peaks and boom! there is the "cocaine peak"! Claire was quite surprised since cocaine stays in the plasma for only 4 to 6 hours. For a inpatient, this pretty much means his is busted! I wonder how much years he have to be in jail. I promise you can totally miss the peak, it's so close to the internal standard, almost got covered! hahah, I FOUND IT! I fun doing detective work.

Been.to.GCMS

totally not ready for school, have to get up early...so x. Kinda dissapointed when I was apprised that I have to do more GCMS, having not knowing there are still lots of stuff to learn in that bench. Can't imagin how much you'll forget for just two weeks...everthing. Training w. Theresa is awsome, she is so scarcastic about stuff and she teach you gives you adequate information about stuff, not much, not less. Did an SHDS Samples w. her, it was time-consuming but I enjoyed it, coz it's so manuel althought can't find any drugs in that guy (which is good). I really like this bench, coz it's just like immunology; I set up my test and run it on the GCMS, then I have an hour free time to do whatever I want. haha, so great. I can even have a long break. since thresea are not really devoted to teaching (thought she is a good teacher). it's all good.

GCMS 101: This is how the GCMS WORKS:
First, drugs in the samples are extracted to an organic layer, they are then dried and reconstituted with methanol. Then they are injected into the Gas chromatography part, which seperates the drug by their sizes and charges. the samples is run through a coloum (roughly about 30 inches long). In there, the samples, travels together w. the mobile phase which is helium is reacted w. the stationary phase, millions of packed scilicon beads. The lighter the drugs, the faster it came out the colum. Peaks will be observed in the presents of a compound. the peak is compared w. a internal standard with a known time that it travels to the coloum in each specific GSMS (Therefore, the internal standard will come out at different time on different GCMS). In our case, we use Cyheptamine as our internal standard. The peak of compound is compared to the IS, giving a Retention time. each compound has a certain retetion time, althoght it's not specific to that compound. Allobarbital is also added to the sample mixture as a quality control, as this is a known compound, the peak of Allowbarbital should give a very consistent retention time.
Seperated compounds are then injected to the Mass spectrometry part, in there, each compound is heated and bombared with high speed electrons, which knock the compound apart, each compound is broken down into smaller fragments and each have their characteristic combination of fragments, for example, compound A of MW 800g/mol can be broken down into these peak: 300, 400, 10, 49, 30,...etc., the results of the characteristic peak is compared w. a library which has many drugs ran in that specific GCMS. The identification of drugs are based on the retention time and match quality of the molecular peaks between the samples and the library.

Finally! the last day of my holiday work! i'm so sick and tired of it. it's the right time to stop. I know too much about it that I finished the routine maintanence in 15mins. and I took a 1 hour nap.....played Freecell, and study GRE. pretty relaxing. Got the music score from Rebecca, can't believe it's so difficult! 've better practice, only three more weeks left.

About the Tsunami thing. many would say why would our God allow such disaster happened. Well, it is exactly how porwerful out God is and we have to accept that we are only human . He didn't come to anniliate us, but He came t o show us God's love. And through this incident, I think most people realized that life is such fragile that we really ought to precious every moment. It's sad that a lot of people died, but I'm also touched by how people in many different country came together; standed out and helped that needed. God made us realized there is still a little part in our heart that is caring and loving. Thanks God for letting me think about what is really more important in life.

Work is tiring, not because there are lots of samples, it's tiring because i'm busy playing Freecell, I have to beat Jeremy and Young Sim! I'm on game 42 today, not bad! haha. So x, I just realized they have a mid-night party when I left! everytime I missed their feasting party! saw so many food in the loung room, so jealous! I can totally tell Joananna is hitting on Kelvin. she tried to asked him to fix stuff in her house, hahaha, so x.

No~! i'm seriously not workaholic, though i worked 16hrs today, it's really crazy. double-shifting is very tiring, although most of my times are devoted to playing Freecell. the pCO2 membrane started to go out on me coz Su put a clot in it, and it's finally fixed, and guess who fixed it? me! me! me! it's all about me!!! haha, just kidding, Mike and david were fixing it all day, by the time I went back the eveing, it's already in the end of troubleshooting. not bad. Kelvin was hella funny, we came up w. an Idea that we should put a xbox in the lab and play Halo w. the UW people! haha, it's a excellent idea! let me talk to Bryce about it. we also need a plasma TV. Who doesn't want to work in Chemistry!?

Everytime Milena came in she has to be acriminous to me and spoke to me in acerbity, but it's cool, I'm not appalled at all! coz I woked w. alacrity and I do not addle people at all. It's also really cool that we have those little arcane stuff in the lab that nobody can understand, althought sometimes it's a bit abominable and I don't even understand some of the antiquated things they know. <-----sorry for being GRE here.

So X, i left my phone at Secret Garden yesterday and went to get it back today. you can't believe I just went in there for 2min and I already smelled like korean BBQ......super sucks! I'm still full from yesterday's BBQ, can u believe it? it has been almost 24 hours since i've at a proper meal. oh dear. Korean for life!

Then I went to Bestbuy to play some more X-men, oh dear, it's so fun, i'm buying it. However, it's either X-box too popular or they are just low on production. The gamestation is sold out everywhere in Seattle!!! which is quite unbelieveble to me. coz the games they have isn't that impressive at all other than Halo, besides it a party party game, it's not fun at all playing it alone, i guess thats why it's not so popular to the HK crowds. but I really like the controller, it's the best among PS2, and Gamecube. it might look big, but there is a reason. (NO, not because the average Americans are bigger and heavier)

I went to the bookstore and bought the GRE studying guide, yes, i'm finally starting to prepare for my Graduate School, may Lord give me wisdom and strength.

Went to Andrews house for some bang and big2, I super fried weldon! yey, I'm proving to them how stupid big 2 is.....but yet, Andrew messed up my score! he can't even win w. such a good hands. three 2 twos and three 6s'.....oh dear. i'm going to die

Wanted to buy something for Amos in Northgate mall, but just can't think of anything! I don't know him that well. I ended up playing X-box at Bestbuy,. it's so fuN! X-men Legend is such an awsome game! makes me want to buy it immediately......

Went to Secret Garden w. Weldon, Iris, Heidi, Kohen, Gilbert and Andrew. so funny, we just started playing BANG right away when we got there, oh dear, we just can't stop!!! the waiter was like........when she saw us playing. The food was so good! as usual! i realized it's the 2nd time i've been there since the break started. it's crazy! it's even more fun w. more people! coz we got so many small dishes as appeltizer; sweet potatos, Kimchi, seaweed, and bean sprouts,....not to mention the awsome buguki....can't stop eating them. the only bad thing going there is you just can't help yourself from over-eating...i felt so full afterwards but we still went for bubble tea.....we played BANG again! oh dear, too bad I have to leave for work early. that sucks

Work is not that bad today, coz Jeremy was there and he gave me a challange to beat all the 30250 games of freecell! I started it today and i've i'm on game #11, 30239 games to go, i'll beat him! Then I went for a goggle search, you just can't believe how crazy people got into this game!!! they actually have the solutions to every single game! and it's ranked by diffculties! omg! Now, i'm kinda mad about this, my syrings guessing game has been stolen by Agnes!!! she took my box and ask the WHOLE LAB to guess! hey it was suppose to be MY GAME! and it's for the blood gas tech, thats really evil! coz she give out turffles for whoever won...i guess that helped her not eating the box of chocolate coz she is diabetic and she lost her glucometer......still, I'm mad! she shold've asked me before doing anything! and she send us the message under Kelvin accout...super un-professional.
May God heal the wounded from the earthquake in southern asian, May they have strength to carry on for rebuilding their homes, and may You comfort those who lost their family during this tragedy.

My mid-night schedule really helped me......playing games.
I started my day at IMA which i haven't been there for like......a month, played some badminton and swam, I LOST MY GOGGLE!! have to swim face-naked! sucks.

Andrew, he sucks even more, coz he just mess up the whole game and tell everybody what he is....!!!

then I went to sam for some video games, this bastard got x-box and gamecube from charlene and his sister respectively......bastard. I just started playing halo, not really fun coz not enough people, and it's so freaking hard to aim. may be i am left handed, should change the setting somehow next time. the Mario mash brother is so fun! such a simple game but it's awsome! we played still almost 6!!! crazy.

Guess how I spent my Christmas day?
I got surrounded by.......Hundred's of Blood gas syringes! Yes, I worked! the first time in my life, i worked during Christmas day. Then went to BMW's house for Christmas Party. my stupid Bang finally came, and we can play it! yes! Kohen was so funny, pretend to be renegate!? no way. he super play Big 2 and Bang together, multitask!?......ah. it's all good. Starting to introduce Bang to the Samuel people. hope they like it, coz it IS actually a pretty fun card game. not like Big 2, u don't have to think....it's all luck.
Guess what I did after the party?
yes, i went to work again! no, i'm not a workoholic. I just love blood gas a lot <-----i'm lying.

Hey! in case you don't know, Christmas it's a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus happened about 2000ish years a go in Bethleham. It might seems far away from you, and u can totally say......who cares; but there are actually people out there (like myself) cares. it's the bases of my belief and the bases of Christianality. Pastor Shiu, was right, it's even harder for us to focus on Jesus in this holiday seasons, all this ebay shoppings and eating and gift exchanging and eating and writing cards and eating......too many distraction! I felt more tiring during christmas coz of all these obligations/excuse for buying gifts and feasting. It really ought to be a time to quite myself and think about You and devot myself to you. I was reading America - the book I bought from Costco today and it's hilarious! but there are some points that makes me uncomfortable. They try to portait the Republican as people who blindly follows their heart and question their beliefs on Christianality. I mean, I agree sometimes they did stupid thing (actually always), but you can't relate that to their belief, there are also Democrates who are Christian dude.

I finally finished my KF soccer series! 33 episode, thats crazy! the ending is so "touching", actually quite stupid, I just skim through the ending.

went to chirstmas service today, cousin sang on stage, she moves funny, when she asked me how she did.......i was like. not bad (for your level), hey! as long as God likes it, doesn't matter what other think right? Thats generally my motto. it seems that the older people gets they depend more on other's opinion and they look for other people's support. well, i guess thats part of growing old......

Went to Andrew's house afterwards to play Bang! yea, i'm making them to get addicted to this game, haha~! I gave Kohen my 1 year old volka, which i don't like it at all, can't believe he finished it! oh dear. he was seriously buzzing. I don't felt like hardcore drinking anymore......seriously, even without the hang over.

P.S. I beat Weldon in Big2! super fried him, afterall, i proved that big2 it's all luck. not really technical.

It's so fun working today, I love PM shift, it's so relaxing and the people were so fun. I hardly run any blood gases today. it's cool. I realized Zeny is hella funny! we hang the christmas deer in front of the LX20 bench, hahaha. can't believe a middle age woman is that cool. Then we were stealing candy from Jeff's socks since he went to Haiwaii, I got another sample of colonge form ESCADA, it's awsome! it's my favorite brand. smells so good! then, I was so bored during the shift, so I piled up hundreds of syringes in the box and ask people to guess how many syringes there are in the box, haha, don't know if anyone would ctually paticipate. anyway, thats not that i'm trying to say. The main dish for today is Jonanna's home-made baklava! I start to develop my taste of greek food. They are awsome! they sorta look like the napolean cake, but w. much more style and flavor. it's just awsome. "job well done" Outstanding performance (thats my evaluation from Jonanna, now i'm giving my highest "evalution" on it).

oh man, I wish i can work tmw, I were suppose to be on call tmw, but due to stupid CLIA's regulation, i can only work on the blood gas before I gruaduate, thats sucks. they have such a fun group in tmw's shift.

okay, i have to finish my 33 episode of Kung Fu soccer, it's actually not a bad drama once you finish episode 18.....yes, i got addicted to it. I was watching it all night yesterday before work.

Still full from vancouver, I had lunch w. Kelly and Phillips. happaned to learn a guy in tacoma locked himself up for 10 days in his room coz his miss HK so much and can't go home.......wow, it's the first time i've heard people are that homesick. quite serious. Anyway, had a good lunch, didn't eat much coz w. cousins. Top Gun is very tasty now, have to go more often.

FINALLY GOT MY HAIRCUT, feel so light and refreshing

the rest of the day: TF-ing at home.....actually did some chores and did my 2 weeks of laundry and messed around w. the settings at my room. and finally have time to re-write my blog. it's quite amazing how much i still remember from few weeks ago. times goes by really quickly. Andrew called me to have dinner at his house, he said he is making chicken wings....!!!! unbelieveble! too bad i was already cooking when he called, next time. Can't believe he went for haircut too, didn't see him. Sam were so happy getting his X'mas present from Charlene that he have to call me about it, of course! it's an X-box, who wouldn't?? It's hard to keep the secret for charlene man.....i think i did a good job. I just can't believe X-box was sold out in most places. Well it is a really good station, better performance than PS2, it's a party station!

I'm sorry.

It's a nice stay......4 meals of sushi + 2 hotdogs + richmond lobster congee. I'm satisfied.
Very very relaxing, what a start for my christmas holiday, these two days are just relaxing, away from all the troubles for awhile. stupid sam went for a midnight downtown drive, he made me take pictures of him in his TSX....oh dear, but i found out i look much better in the TSX then him, seriously.

It's quite amazing that we ordered 6 dish of house roll at Tsunami...oh dear, I was full to the max! on top of my hot dogs and kamei. it's too much, hahahaha. Then we went for midnight sushi at Mushashi that cynthia recommanded. the sashimi was so big! it's a chunk loads of fish. crazy....but quality wise, it's only so so. can't beat richmond's tokoyo ichiban.

the best thing to get all my food digested is to jacuzzi away my FAT! haha. yep, pretty cool, vancouver downtown. I'm lovin it. too bad I don't have a chance to go skiing coz or work, or i'll go w. johnathan and enoch tmw.

LAST DAY OF FALL

finally! vacation time! this quater is going by really quickly! lots of stuff happened; good and bad.

anyway, i was told today's exam is the hardest of all clini chem, but it's easier than I expected. mostly because I "trained" at the blood gas bench for.......only 357 more hours then my fellow classmates. the blood gas questions were like.....piece of cake. haha. Thanks God. it's not my wisdom, it's just work.

ate out w. Sam and Sy at Secret Garden, hahaha, the food were just........amazing. i love the little korean dishes and the traditioness of the food. it's feels like you are actually in Korea. the woman keep asking us if we wants more food. The only bad thing eating there is u'll smell like bugoki yourself afterwards. you just marinated by the smoke in there for 2 hours and all your sweat glands were blocked or turned into oil glands. but you know what? it's worth it. the bugoki is just amazing, excellent saurce. oh dear. so full. and we went to the taiwanese bubble tea place (the best in seattle coz they have plum ice tea). i were so full that i thought i was drunk, seriously...went to sleep right after i got home.

P.S my bed smells like bugoki after i wake up.

It's pretty fun to work there! I love it!

first of all, they get so many break time, haha. I basically go to break everytime during my ELISA incubation. and most of the immunology tests are cool, so easy, but technical. just have to be careful not to mess up, or it'll be super FUBAR. because each test cost around $40, in a normal daily run of about 50 pt. thats $2000 in that little incubation wells.

second, the immunology dept have 10 hours shift! that means i only have to go to work for four days! thats awsome! pretty cool. and most of the time in there are just waiting and filing, reading and interpretation. i love it!

Third, they have the highest ceiling in the lab! i can hear myself's feedback, so funny. besides i can see the skies.

Last but not least, the ANA slides are so cool! green florescense cells and different pattern! homogeneous, speckled, centeromere, ribosomes, mixed, PCNA, so fun!

i'm seriously considering myself working there. hope a position is opening up soon

The starbucks at bellevue square are so nice!! oh dear, can't believe we just found out. the restroom are hotel class. very clean and classy. not bad! I just realized Marsha is pretty fun to work with. not that she gave me excellent evaluation. but she is hella cool!
I think she is one of the tech there who taught me the most stuff in the lab. besides, she gave me time to read through the procedures in GCMS......so i get time to impress her. haha. sorry for saying bad words about you. I guess I shouldn't judge people on my first impression. she teach you the good stuff, the interesting cases, and she is very approachable. she know so much in toxicology, and the GCMS.

Can you believe it? i was trained on blood gas today. MK and DP tired to asked me those super specific questions...... I was like. yea right, like u'll know it too. sadly they do. so in order to fight back, i asked them more specific questions like: how so u calculation %O2 vol and %O2sat, and what is the function of that? Hos does the pH and pCO2 and pO2 electode work? the funny thing is, both me and DP got mix up w. the cathod cation thing. remember: cation (pos charge) goes to the cathode (neg charge) and vice versa.

Code card: today is the most interesting code I've been to. 4 codes, one patients die, can't tell you what happened due to HIPPA, but i can tell u it's pretty gross. the other guy they just cut him open form the stomach, it's pretty amazing, i thought i went to safeway or QFC for some quality butcher. The third guy. gun shot.....by are police, so funny. fourth: MVA (motor vehical accident), the only thing i thought of is "It coud've been me last time" well, they (the 3 guy) all survived.

Senior seminar, we talked about compliance stuff today, which i don't really care about. the only interesting thing i've learn is that the compliance officer used to be a med tech. however, this job is quite boring and stressful i think, coz you have to deal w. laws and government issues, which is a headache.

Marsha is very bitchy and all she does is to find fault in other people and complain about stuff, so typical HK character, which i hate. I totally see why they can never be supervisor. well, have to admit i learn a lot........finally got a chance to work w. crappy people, Thank God, the maintant on Axsym is easy but just take a long time. It good that I got a chance to do it, coz it's only once a Month, luck me, and unlucky Ly and Julia.

totally got tricked by Hernnan. Haemorrhoids VS Hemorrhage? hahahha, they are hella funny. Milena and Hernnan stared a real fight! so cool, those bulgarian woman, they are so fun to work w. Dannett came @ 2:00am coz the GCMS broke down, poor her. Talked w. chuck about some gross food. the southern oyster, aka beef testes.....other than that, the chinese beat the americans 100times in eating exotic stuff.

So fun at work today, they put me on LX20 and Blood Gas and helped out in Cell Dyn, super mutlitask! got so tired after work, and have to prepare the songs for Cindy's choir, oh dear, super take life. the Starbuck double shot canned coffee is so effective, it came in effect within 30min. quite awsome

slept through half of the sermon, oh dear, just too tired, super take life. went to New Kowloon again........and at the same Taro fried roll, didn't have diarrhea yet. haha

went to Kelly's house, ate w. Elder Yip and Auntie Hermia, they are so nice and fun to talk to. just knew they Elder Yip started to develop diabetes, his fasting Glu is like 126, borderline, hope he is more careful about his diet. they are such a fun couple. awsome.
